Don’t understand what you’re saying.
This thread has just become an exercise in whataboutery though from Tories who still seem to think there’s a “red menace”, there isn’t, there’s a slightly lighter blue alternative that’s all. They should be pleased by Labour’s timidity - policy is being governed by what a focus group of “swing voters” is telling them - I suppose it’s always been the case over the past thirty years or so, but it’s seldom seemed so obvious.
What I mean is that anything radical like a wealth tax, perhaps depending on how it was communicated, which if it was done better, would help, but it would still inevitably shake the market and lead to at least short term 'chaos' until things readjusted.
When I saw Labours reaction to that budget, and how the response was rooted in respect for 'not rocking the market' I sensed that this would be no radical Labour govt, economically at least.
I dont think people do think there is a red menace. I don't think many will have any legitimate concerns because economic policy would likely carry on just as it has. People may have other concerns perhaps but I don't think economic policy will really be one of them.
This, in my roundabout way, has kinda been my point for several years on here. The policies the govt have taken are pretty much those every govt has and would take. We are all beholden to the markets unfortunately.
It's from someone with a detailed inside knowledge of what goes inside Welsh Gov and the various land deals / companies / contracts that get awarded out (usually fact checked via companies house) . It also details things like a consultancy company called Celyn that has various relatives and ex Senedd people working for it. He blogs about once a month - it's worth signing up for - it might open your eyes to what is going on, on your doorstep.
Well if he and you want to be taken seriously get your bollocks out and put them on the table
A name would be a start so we can work out if he's anti Welsh Labour, anti Welsh government in general or anti everything corrupt in Wales
Let's just say the Welsh conservatives are not in a position to be throwing too many stones
Just had a quick look at the blog. The guy seems to be a Conservative Treehouse clone. Long on rambling discursive and innuendo, painfully short on anything resembling a smoking gun or indeed any substance. He seems to have built up a small loyal band of commentators and followers of the gifted and talented variety.
Still you don't need to look very far to hear the same old background music all these guys seem to default to, either out of belief or to snare the gullible. Examples from the last three articles:
1. In contrast, Trump and Putin are cast as pantomime villains
2. What it lays out is a political position, a world view. The Globalist agenda. The agenda of the United Nations, the World Economic Form, the European Union; assorted asset managers like BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street; various multi-billionaires like old money Rothschilds and Rockefellers, joined by arrivistes like Bill Gates, George Soros and Mark Zuckerberg.
3. We face a future of engineered hardship and shortages designed to give more power to the Globalists, and to take away our control over own lives; whether it’s by restricting our movements with 20mph and 15-minute neighbourhoods, climate lockdowns, vaccine passports, or by removing cash so that every penny we spend is recorded, and we can be punished by a CBDC system if we step out of line.
You need to be careful with this stuff, you might end up down the same rabbit-hole as Wales-Bales!
He's blogged against Tories - have a read
I was originally more interested in what Celyn were up to by the way
Does seem a little unfair to dismiss what he is saying based on his wider political position, or your perception of it?
I think the mistake is to only ever take your sources from one area; a diversity of sources and critiques is healthy.
One of the problems in Wales is the narrow range of civic society, so the Welsh Parliament, Govt, media organisations and big institutions such as the universities, WRU, NHS boards etc are all pretty tight together. It's not healthy really.
I think more scrutiny of the WG is a good thing, but just don't only rely on bloggers, balance it with other media sources too.
For what its worth, I've worked a fair amount with the WG before. On most occasions I have come away very unimpressed
So have I, I still currently work with WG in a small capacity - and nothing has changed in over 10 years. In particular a certain health minister anti private sector now touting their services as a consultant to private sector companies - oh the irony.
anyway time for bed
