Thread: Beer Before/After Coventry game

    Beer Before/After Coventry game

My old man is having work done on the house on the 19th so I won’t be staying there that night and was thinking of getting an Airbnb around Canton.

Any Message Boarders fancy a beer before the game?

Thanks for the offer Wash DC - I'll probably be driving - I am sure some of the regulars would meet you in Wetherspoons

    Cheers Chris.

It would be good to meet with some of the names I’ve been talking with for a few decades.

There’s a good mixture of fans in the Canton (not the Canton Cross) , before and after the game.

Small Brains pub on Llandaff Road

Several users of this board are always there, not necessarily posters, but avid readers

PS:- We drink out of glasses as well, not plastic receptacles

If you pop in the Canton Cross be aware that it doesn’t fart about with card payments or phone payments, it, sensibly, deals in cash only.

Does anyone go to the Corporation these days? That used to be my pre-match pub. The last few times I've been home it's been the Cornwall. I had a pint of SA Gold in there. It tasted like vinegar.

Corp is now a place for the upmarket Poncanna rich brigade, £6 a pint

We tried the newly City-themed Rummer before the Sheffield Wednesday game. It looks nice altough I'd much prefer the look before it turned into a sports bar a few years ago. My SA wasn't great and they weren't yet doing food. Early days yet though so we'll probably give it a go again.

2 groups of lads I know went in there, said “no thank you, as it was to expensive”, similar to Bale’s place, number 11.

Much cheaper bars around that area

I went to the Rummer this Saturday just gone. While I was waiting to get served, a patron said I had a nice mouth and he would like to use it. I was a bit pissed but I ****ed off to the Old Arcade then.

The arty crafty bits are around the perimeter, there is a fair size bar in the middle.

Also, a large seating area outside with a separate bar out there and street food, type places.

Went there before we lost 4-0 to West Brom, I took it as a sign

What’s in the ninian park pub now, by Jeff whites? Think it went into a steak place at one point, rarely walk that way. Used to enjoy a pre match beer there
