    Polish elections

Exit polls suggest that the combined opposition coalition group have a majority. Better relationships with EU in prospect, potentially with Tusk as leader.

    Re: Polish elections

Interesting result, although broadly in line with polls.

Probably a bit of having served their two terms and people got bored. Another Covid govt gone too. I suspect the PiS are secretly okay with it. Don't need to deal with the Ukraine war and can still point out they got more votes than any other party so can play the victim card etc.

It is interesting than in some countries the two main parties are now centre right and right too.

Poland has also fallen out with Ukraine recently. I can't say I've followed closely why, but it struck me as strange as the countries share a border and many towns that have passed between them. That, and the general discord and arguments with the EU no doubt didn't help them, esp with Tusk leading the opposition who is obvs very pro EU.

There's a really interesting breakdown of the demographics on the vote here too.
