Thread: Why were we so bad last season?

Re: Why were we so bad last season?

We'd finished the season before in terrible form and Morison's leadership didn't allow the new players to believe in themselves.
Then Hudson continued in same vein

Two completely useless managers in Morison and Hudson. On top of that Morison signed 17 run of the mill players and not one striker among that lot. How the feck were we supposed to win games without someone to stick the ball in the back of the net?

    Wasn’t Etete a Morison signing???
Although to have the expectation that an untried youngster and Watters would form our attacking options was just bizarre

Schoolboy naivety in trying to create a Roy of the Rover managerial story because the owner had a hunch.

Possession-based football isn't the goal, pulling teams around the pitch to create the overloads or the 1 on 1's you planned for is the purpose, but Pep Morison thought just kicking the ball sideways was progressive enough, and in Ryan Wintle he found his man. Wintle is a good player and a good pro but its so safe and slow it was pointless playing that way, and with the exception of Philogene in the middle third of the season we had no x factor to counter the limited creativity of the team.

Siosis first instinct is to pass forward, he has the ability to do it as well which helps :) This is the difference to me. Wintle has dropped from first choice to third. He'll have great games but he isn't the player to carry you through the season

    Inept Managers
One paced and one dimensional midfield
    No goals
    No confidence
    Appalling tactics
    Awful keeper

Apart from that, we were pretty good.

Why were we so bad kinda answers itself when Ralls, Wintle and Rinomhota played in the same team fairly regularly.
