Back in the 80’s, it was such a great show.

The writing was on the wall when they got shot of Sue Barker and brought in the dreadful Paddy McGuinness.
I couldn't watch it with him.

I didn't like SB to begin with but she grew on me and had a great rapport with the captains.

I think I'd go for Botham as my favourite captain.

The beeb showed what they thought of the programme when they started to move it around the schedules. One week it would be on at 8.00pm,the next it would be after the news. Then the nails in the coffin were Sue Barker leaving, and them trying to update the show to be a bit like Sky's equivalent.
It wasn't broken u til the beeb messed with it.

They broke something that didn’t need fixing. I also used to watch religiously and then they changed the team to the current dreadful team and that was the end of it. Favourite captains, Emlyn Hughes & Tuffers

Re: Question of Sport no More

A friend of mine was in the audience for a few shows , apparently they have ages to answer the questions and the responses are edited for the show.

I stopped watching when John Parrott left.

Just like Dr Who It'll be back.

The BBC said it has been shelved rather than cancelled so, perhaps, it will be back, hopefully without the pointless and talentless Paddy McGuinness.

I can't help but read the Heading of this thread in a proclaimers accent.

Not watched it in about 20 years myself. The start of the Dawson/Tufnell panel was the end for me as it seemed to be heading downhill rapidly with less quiz and more fooling about.

IMO Sue Barker has been the best female front of sports proggies since she started, but is closely followed by Gabby Yorath Logan

Paddy McGuinness has now helped hasten the demise of Top Gear And QoS.

In the interests of a healthy mutual relationship I think they should have only been prepared to walk 250 miles.
