I agree, I went off it about forty years ago. Haven’t watched it in ages, I’m not a big fan of award programmes where the organiser tells you who you can vote for.

And it has become increasingly lavish over the years which seems like an incredible waste of money.

No, I haven't watched it for years now. Used to enjoy a recap of the sporting year but it gradually became unwatchable.
