    Mary Earps

I glanced at a report claiming that someone called Mary Earps won Sports Personality of the Year with a link haha. As if I'm going to click on that link, it must be some made-up spam site, you'd think they would at least name an actual famous sports personality if they want people to click on the link

    What it's true???

Not someone like Beckham, Giggs or Botham?

Isn't it supposed to be for famous Sports personalities or has the format changed?

What is next year a Subbuteo player?

She's not famous though is she?

    Like Beckham or Gazza?

Rory McIlroy has never won it?

My missus said she would win it ages ago. Suppose she fits “The Current Thing” but well done all the same.

Don't like the way the vote system is but of the nominees glad she won it, especially what they did to her with the shirt fiasco

It's really not worth getting worked up about. Many men and women have won it over the years ahead of others who've probably achieved more. There's no more logic to the winner than who wins I'm a Celebrity or Love Island.

Yes I've never watched it never will!
It lost any credibility (if it had any) when Michael Owen once won it who has the personality of dishwater.

Ryan Giggs has won it too. Imagine that now! Hasn't Sullivan won it? Surprised if he hasn't?

Luke Littler to win it next year, he loves a kabab and a can of Tango to celebrate his wins!

    https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other...nship-31729806

Luke Littler, 16, wins AGAIN as teen's incredible World Darts Championship run continues
The teenager became the youngest player to win a match at Alexandra Palace when he beat Christian Kist 3-0 on Wednesday, and he's followed that up with another win

Sixteen-year-old sensation Luke Littler is into the third round of the World Darts Championship after a stunning 3-1 win over 20th seed and former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding.

Teenager Littler, nicknamed 'The Nuke', was heralded with chants of 'He's got school in the morning' by fans at Alexandra Palace, but he showed the calmness of a veteran as he saw out the victory against opponent 'Goldfinger' Gilding who, at 53, is more than three times his age.

The Beeb treats it a bit more seriously than its reality, it a bit of a Christmas panto of an award, and history shows the vote has been manipulated by the public to suit whatever is en vogue. C'mon Princess Anne then her daughter has won it, the horsey royal set must have been postcard crazy back in the day, or automated dialing machines 20 years ago

I was a hobby copper with him, on motorsports events. All marshalls at the TT, Manx GP, Rally etc. used to have the power of detention for people who decided to break the law (walking / driving on closed roads & the like). Whilst he didn’t have a great personality, he did do a lot for charity and gave up time & money to many causes.

I’ve seen him drive a golf cart into a bunker.

What the freak is Barton doing calling a fellow sportsperson a sack of spuds ?

He's a bit of a sad act these days

    Re: Mary Earps

So if it's for mediocrity as Barton says then I assume Barton has won it loads cos when you look in the dictionary for the definition of mediocrity there's a picture of him the same as when you look up loser and Kent (sic)

Loving people getting their testies in a twist over this
