Valerenga are reportedly holding out for a fee of £4.3million for their prized asset, Andrej Ilic.

Norwegian channel TV 2 last week claimed Cardiff and Valerenga were locked in negotiations over the player's transfer after the Welsh side launched a "big bid" for the player. Sign up to our free Cardiff City WhatsApp service here.

Now, respected Norwegian journalist Arilas Ould-Saada claims the Bluebirds have not yet reached Valerenga's asking price. Replying to a Cardiff fan on X, he said: "Vålerenga want a higher guaranteed fee than what Cardiff are currently offering."

When asked how much that would be, Ould-Saada said "€5m ish", which roughly equates to £4.3million. Valerenga were relegated from the top flight last season and it is understood the forward wants to play at a higher level

Aaron Ramsey has been pictured training with his team-mates for the first time since his injury back in September.

It's been a long road back to the training ground for the Wales captain, who has missed four months owing to a knee issue, but there does appear to be light at the end of the tunnel.

It could yet be a while before Ramsey dons the blue shirt out on the pitch, most likely some point next month, but his inclusion in training is one positive step in the right direction, at least.

Bulut took training on Monday morning, with the players due to train in the first portion of the week before being afforded some time off later on this week owing to them not having a game.

Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman said he is still "optimistic" about the final 10 days of the transfer window despite being disappointed the club has not managed to make any signings yet.

Dalman confirmed Bulut was not going anywhere after the manager threatened to quit on Saturday amid his anger over how this month's transfer dealings were progressing. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.

Dalman told the BBC: "I want to assure supporters we are making every effort to get players in. It has been difficult but we are still optimistic. So far in this market there has been little movement. We are not alone."
