Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

Yep, this will be the first time in 17 years I'm watching outside of the US and in a European time zone again.

First year I've made the effort. Seen a few games this year and always meant to watch it more.

No work tomorrow so great excuse to stay up

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

They all try, but you won't beat the Welsh National anthem

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

Nope. Never watched any Yank football before, no interest. Enjoy, but not for me.

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

Yep, usually last until about half time.

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

The owners of the San Francisco 49ers took over Leeds last summer.

Yep….can’t be as bad as yesterday!

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

There's a partial streaker on the pitch.

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

    Great game!

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

Too drawn out timewise. Is there any way of retrospectively watching just the hour of play and not all the fluff and ads that triple how long it really lasts?

Watched 1st live & 2nd half on repeat this morning.

You can’t get closer than that! Was it the longest (in time) Super Bowl ever?

Sky just had an hour long highlights programme which had everythingyou need. Its repeated at 10 and again at 3.

Cheers - but I'm not a Sky Sports subscriber

A really good game. Was a difficult one to call and they kept you guessing until the end. Some people think it was rigged so whoever did that should be commended for the blocked extra point and the random punt return fumble. Bit lucky for KC but Mahomes showed his class in the end.

I read about that, they also thought the colours chosen for the Super Bowl determined what teams got to the SB, so I laugh and move on. PM class made the difference in the end in a tight game, I agree, unfortunate couple of errors didn't help.

Do you follow a team or just the sport in general?

The sport in general. I found it difficult to pick a team cos I've no connection with any of them. It all depends on the context - would've liked the Lions to win this year after all their suffering but it's no big deal really. I get enough stress with our football.

I watched the Documentary "Bye bye Barry" about Barry Sanders, that was a good watch.

If you look at a map of the NFL teams there's gaping holes in the map and a lot of miles between teams so I suppose not everyone gets a 'local' team. Also the way people move around the US for college and work, I suppose someone born in NY brought up to support the giants could move to New Mexico and bring his kids up as giants fans?

I like the Purdy story so I might stick with the Niners and see how he progresses from being 'Mr Irrelevant'

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

I gave up watching rugby union because of the constant stop/start nature of the game which seems to have got worse over the years with so many petty rules, endless collapsing scrums and kicking of the ball up/down the field in tennis fashion. Hence there is no way in the world would I watch American football, thank you.
