Neil Harris to replace Joe Edwards at Millwall?

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68359086

Former Millwall boss Neil Harris is set to replace Joe Edwards as head coach, BBC Radio London understands.

The Lions have lost their last four Championship games, leaving them one point above the drop zone.

Edwards, 37, joined the club in November as successor to Gary Rowett for his first job in senior management.

Harris, 46, spent four years as Millwall manager from 2015 until 2019 and is currently boss of League One side Cambridge United.

Jon - I'm disappointed you didn't just name this thread 'Neil Harris'. The board could've had a meltdown 😄

I would rather Slade back than Harris.

Well, naming it simply .."Neil Harris" wouldn't cause too many palpitations, however, a title... "Neil Harris set to be next manager" would certainly cause some initial angst.

Re: Neil Harris to replace Joe Edwards at Millwall?

    Contract until June 2025.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68359086

Maybe there will be a magical new manager bounce, but I doubt much can or will change.

I can't see what Harris can bring that will transform Millwall's season.

They are in a relegation battle and will stay there.

Such an awful manager for us, but he had good moment for them, felt good factor might come back.

The BBC tried, that have a story with the headline "Bluebirds set for Harris reunion"

Agreed. Great news for us. And every other team in the division in fact.

Then again, they could have appointed OGS.

I didn't think he was too bad in his first season with us. He's the only manager to get Tomlin playing consistently well for us. His biggest downfall was his best spell was when fans weren't allowed in the ground.

Their fans were definitely pleased to see him go first time around.

I'd take Ole over any manager since Dave Jones

Haha! I’d love to have Brent as our manager. Making an entrance before the teams have come out to ‘Simply The Best’ notched up to 11. That’s what we need to improve the match day experience. 🤣🤣

Honestly he's probably the best current pick out of a bad bunch. And not gone for Malky for the bitter taste of racism & bullying.

I think he’s the only manager to get Tomlin playing at all.

Re: Neil Harris to replace Joe Edwards at Millwall?

Max Rushden, podcaster and Cambridge fan, on Neil Harris jumping ship for Millwall:

    https://www.theguardian.com/football...wall-cambridge

I’m not sure the Cambridge ultras would fare well in a war with Millwall’s finest, but with respect to everyone there, and with thanks to the decent, if truncated, job Harris did at the Abbey – boy I hope you lose every game and we’ll see you in League One next year.

Based on this approach then, David Kerslake and then Gabs/Young are the next best?
