Well let's see how this example stacks up against the figures in Europe per year throughout the 20th Century.

We discover HERE that in the 20th century, earthquakes accounted for more than 200,000 deaths and over 250 billion Euros in direct and indirect losses in Europe (EM-DAT).

That means an average of 2000 deaths each year between 1900AD and 2000AD throughout the whole of Europe.

So 17,000 deaths just 6 days after the Total Eclipse is certainly significant.

Even if these solar eclipses are prophetic, what are we to make of them? Something bad will happened, we don’t know what or when. It may or may not happen in the same country as the eclipse. What are we supposed to do with this apparent warning?

Then as 1904 came, Evan Roberts began sharing a new direct message from God which challenged people to take God and life & death seriously, they needed to change their ways, ie it was a call to repent.
In 1904 in Wales, 100,000 people joined the churches in just 3 months! This spiritual revival, although it started in Wales, spread throughout England, Scotland and Ireland before arriving in America in 1906, with similar dramatic results.
Looking back, people saw it as God reaping millions into His Kingdom before many millions stepped into eternity during the terrible war that was WW1.

God's ability to see the future isn't limited to one category, such as natural disasters.
The birth of Christ for example was written about by Micah 720 years before the event and named the little town of Bethlehem as the place it would happen. The Dead Sea scrolls have recently been dated and have scientifically confirmed the validity of numerous prophecies being written hundreds of years before the actual events.
