I did feel that Poland had been practicing penalties and that we maybe hadn't. Whether it makes any difference, who knows?

In any case, anyone can miss a penalty. Even Kenny Miller.

In the last Feast Of Football podcast before the game one of the players (cant remember whether Davies, James or Roberts) said they had been practicing pelanties during the week.

But practicing in a training session - and how they practiced who knows - is no guarantee for a live game when the pressure is on, they are knackered, the crowd is loud and stressed, and the Poles are radiating confidence and experience.
