Be Smart Stay Away From The Alleged Smart Meter

Smart meters should read all the time. The issue is, some 4 million don't and the energy companies are trying to meet a government target for having customers sign up/ use them rather than sorting out why so many don't work properly. Unfortunately, those older people who have had them installed are less likely to query why their DDs are going up and end up paying too much.

I agree. My only point was that an estimated reading is telling you your smart meter isn't! So take a reading and tell the supplier.

So far I've managed to resist the constant pressure of having a smart meter. Glad i have and will continue to do so. I'm quite happy reading my meters once a month, having a steady direct debit that overpays in the summer months and underpays over the winter. I'd rather keep it that way.

I do the same and my suplier told me I was paying to much and asked my how much I'd like to reduce it by.
