Without the relevant info from the club it is all conjecture and therefore becomes a bit of a circular debate
I've just watched Buluts press conference, I think you are right Bulut is in limbo, Tan is not talking to him and he doesn't seem at all sure as to what's happening.

I would guess from that they are looking elsewhere which is worrying unless it's someone like Cooper, which I would still doubt.

Didn't we have close to 50 players at one point prior to Slade coming in or am I going madder than usual ??

    Re: Bulut

With Slade i ask 8th with

    Keepers Marshy,

Defenders - Peltier, Bruno, Morrison, Fabio, Connolly , Malone
Midfield - Ralls, Whitts, gunnar, Dikachoi,O'Keefe
forwards - Pilkington, noone, Ameobi,Harris, Zohore, Immers, Mason

Not sure many of our starters would start in Slades team that finished 8th.

At best Slade didn't cock it up but the team was not greater than the sum of the parts. Don't think the same about Bulut, the sum is definitely less than he is getting, yes it paint dryingly boring but he knows what he is doing

    Supporters Trust statement:

Cardiff City Supporters' Trust Board today issued a statement because of growing uncertainty over the future of manager Erol Bulut.

Cardiff City Supporters' Trust Board today issued a statement today because of growing uncertainty over the future of manager Erol Bulut.

The Board said: "We are reliably informed that the decision on who shall be the club's manager for the 2024-25 season, and on what terms, has been solely in the hands of club owner Vincent Tan for some time.

"The Trust Board understands that as of today he has not made a decision on whether or not a new contract should be offered to the current manager Erol Bulut or the search should begin for a new manager.

"We strongly urge the owner to make that decision as speedily as possible to remove growing uncertainties and disquiet amongst fans about the matter. Cardiff City fans deserve certainty, given that at this time they are being asked to renew their season tickets or become new season ticket holders."

Sums us up really - going to start on the back foot again in the summer - what sort of faith does that show in bulut if he is eventually offered a contract IE why the delay (aside from any arguement if he deserves one or not)

Thought this was supposed to be the start of a project where dalman had rediscovered his mojo - aged well didn't it

Oh well pay up and suffer the uncertainty I suppose - like fecking groundhog day at this club

Should be planning for the summer transfer window already shouldn't we?

    Re: Bulut

I just want the ball to move forward quicker. I know this is the footballing purist forum but too much faffing around to do exactly what?

I think he knows what he is doing but its killing me watching Grant double up as a second full back. Perhaps he is too good for championship players, I don't know, and the squad is better than this time last year, so thank you, make the announcement and move on.

Exactly especially as we have known for a while where we would be playing

I'd be interested to know who we have looked good against. Can you remember a game we dominated? Or a game when you thought we are going to batter a team. I can't.

    Re: Bulut

It was interesting to hear Ian Walsh and Nathan Blake on Call Rob. Neither had much positive to say about Bulut. Both were critical of Bulut for moaning about the team being passive in the first half, yet said that's how Bulut would have had them training in the week and how he would have set them up. Walsh mentioned that Bulut says the same things every week but nothing ever seems to get done about the problems he mentions.

    Re: Bulut

The first 45 minutes was not totally how we trained and what we worked on.” Erol began. “One day before the game, everything was clear on how we wanted to face the opponent, but it didn’t work.

“We faced the opponent in our own half, which is what I didn’t want from the team. From 20-25 minutes in Hull’s half, we should press and try to put the pressure on them to make mistakes. When you don’t press well and the opponent is also a good passing team, they can escape from this pressure.

You've had 40 games to sort out how your team should play and they are still all over the place. Bulut out

Who is he talking about though?

Meite? Big lad who is not designed to press
Bowler ? Physically not great and not blessed with courage
Grant, worked his nuts off as a second full back
Turnbull, It can't have escaped Bulut that Turnbull must come last in team sprints but a considerable distance
Ralls - Won everything he had to win
Siopis - so deep and just gave the ball away

So who is he talking about not pressing?

Blakey also made the point that if things aren't going as Bulut planned, why wasn't he telling the players during the game?

    Re: Bulut

What has Bulut done since the first few months of the season to make anyone think he's worthy of another year?

    Re: Bulut

It's a desperate comment by Bulut, either he's saying that he can't get his tactical plan through to his players, or he doesn't have the players to do it but tries to get them playing that way anyway, I'm not sure which is worse for him but neither is good. Not sure if it's the latest in his post match excuses or if he's finally worn down enough to be honest.

Either way, it seems like his time could well be winding down, Tan doesn't seem like he really wants to give him an extension and recent home performances and attendances won't help, doubt he's too impressed by Bulut trying to negotiate through the press recently either. Let's spin the manager lottery wheel again?

    Re: Bulut

At best he is saying the players don't follow his instructions, at worst they just don't want to play for him.
Tan has two options as a consequence, change all the players or change the manager.

    Re: Bulut

Bulut hasn't done a bad job, but does anybody really think he is the manager to take us forward.

Those defending him, appears to believe that he deserves a contract because he's done a better job than Hudson and Lamouchi. His win/draw/loss ratio is exactly the same as Morrison, in exactly the same number of games. He has an inferior record to McCarthy and Harris.

We have lost exactly the same amount of games as we did under Morrison, but appear to have an inability to draw a match. A lot of Morrisons defeats were where we could consider ourselves unlucky. When we lose under Bulut it is normally when we have been totally uncompetitive and lifeless and we lose comfortably (the early season losses to Leicester and Ipswich probably the exceptions). There have been very few losses where we come away considering ourselves unlucky.

His attitude to the younger players is bewildering. Forgetting his treatment of Rubin Colwill; are Ashford and Joe Colwill going to set a record for most games on a the bench without appearing? It seems that there are no circumstances under which he will bring them on, win, lose or draw. They might as well sell these places on the bench to supporters as part of the match day experience (this is only half-joking).
