I’ve just done my blog and came down on the side of bad luck, but I’m already having doubts.
Shambles.
Phillips not being aware and you need to ask yourself where's the communication?
Typically, City had just scored and there was a hint of hope with the crowd actually being woken up ftom snoozeball by some pressing and forward passing.
I actually laughed when it was scored.
We had a bit of momentum and Ralls was trying to keep that going - although I’ll try and blame Bulut for anything that goes wrong, I don’t think he was responsible for what happened and Phillips was just caught in the middle of it all. However, I can remember making a “comeback” in parks football when I was about twenty one - we were absolutely woeful, but I don’t think we ever gave away a goal as daft as that
Shambles. But I think Ralls should shoulder the blame. To pass backwards having just won a free kick and not to look at who your passing it to is schoolboy stuff. Bulut said he was communicating some of the shape changes to Philips. So, it's hard to blame him.
Bowler had just gone off, super winger Perry was the outlet we were trying to get the ball to, but it would have gone back to the keeper at some time.
We just don't play to our strength we play to a tactic board. Hull had just conceded, look flakey so it was time to put it in the mixer in front of the Canton
Ralls' fault completely. Just puts the ball down and passes it blind to Phillips, who's not only got his back turned but is walking away from Ralls to pass on Bulut's message to Goutas. The only excuse I can give Ralls is that maybe he saw Bulut's hand signals on the touchline and thought it was a message to play it quickly but surely you've got to look at the person you're passing to in that situation.
Would Joe have made that pass with Warnock in charge?
Of course not. It was time to reset get it close the their penalty box and win the second ball. We do not have the finesse to open a can of beans with a tin opener let alone a championship defence.....Its just pointless coaching by numbers.
We could also add Goutas' mistake that led to Sunderlands pen as pointless back passes that leads to absolutely nothing
It was inevitable that our shower would cock up at some time. We look like very amateur. Time we started docking wages for inept performances
At 0-2 I had resigned myself to another Sunderland type of performance but a far worse shoreline coming.
We scored and I thought right quick p!ss and I’m well up to enjoy the onslaught as Hull try to cling onto what they got.
By the time I got back up the steps they scored again FFS.
This goal wouldn’t have happened in the Sunday League and sums up our team to a tee. We are gaining momentum and are back in the game. The crowd are preparing themselves to get a little excited (it is into the second half after all) and we have a free kick. Only one thought in Ralls’ head, get that free kick back towards our own goal. Its mind numbing stuff and, like others, I’m boring myself repeating it every single week.
Seems I’m in a minority of one on here and I’m playing Devil’s Advocate to a degree.
Cracking pass, took out all 10 outfield players
Last week we won because the opposition scored 2 own goals, and we got a point at home v Plymouth down to a ridiculous own goal. We've had plenty of luck this season.
The third goal yesterday was a moment of individual poor judgement/bad luck- no more than that.
Of more significance was the fact that when we tried to chase the game, we posed no more of a goal threat and just became a shambles at the back.
Ralls was careless, that's pretty much it. He'll hold his hands up, I'm sure, but he didn't do it on purpose, I can't say I see it as a sacking offence but it's all about opinions.
Nothing wrong with passing it back or sideways in that situation. Do you remember our winner against Bristol City in the Academy game recently? I said at the time that Twose would've been slated if he'd passed the initial free kick backwards in a first team game and this thread bears it out. Grant was the only player ahead of Ralls and he was well covered, as was Wilson-Esbrand on the touchline to his left. Going right was the way to go but he should've looked first.
It's a shambles isn't it but it's a bit unlucky.
Ralls plays a pass back to a defender that isn't looking so has blame to take but he's probably just seen a blue shirt moving forward for the ball. I've never played professionally but when I played I rarely was able to focus on people's faces. Still from a dead ball situation more care is needed.
Phillips isn't looking, he's passing on a message to someone, probably isn't expecting us to take it so quickly. Still he should be more aware. Philogene certainly was.
It's just another poor goal to give away, for which we have specialised in.
