    And yet the strength of the current UK army ( about 1 or 2 divisions) would last about 3 days in a ground combat operation against Russia or China

    If the main ground threat would over run us in 3 days then absolutely no point whatsoever in having an army in respect of a land battle

    Tanks , artillery .......bin it all

    Money is tight , spend it on nuclear deterrent and anti terrorism

    NATO ensures that it wouldn't simply be the UK v China or Russia.

    in real terms i.e. adjusted for inflation, defence spending is about half what it was in 2007. We have more civil servants in the MoD than sailors in the RN
