Last six games - Win - lose - Win - lose -Win- lose - We are due a win
play the kids
In what has been a remarkable season statistically, there are 3 possible outcomes with us on 19 wins, 5 draws and 21 defeats.
1) We lose and become only the second side in league history to win 19 and lose 22 games in a season.
2) We draw and become only the 8th side in league history to win 19 and lose 21 games in a season.
3) We win and become the first side in league history to win 20 and lose 21 games in a season.
Has there been any other occurrences other than ourselves this season, of a team finishing in the top half and losing more games than a team who has been relegated in the same season. We currently have lost 3 more than Huddersfield. I can't imagine that's happened too many times.
In divisions of 20 or more teams, it has happened 23 times in league history.
The joint largest is 3, in the Third Division in 1982/83. Reading were relegated with 17 defeats (only 5 at home) while Sheffield United finished 11th with 20 defeats (and 19 wins).
It has only happened in the second tier on 5 occasions, with 4 of those being a difference of one less defeat for a relegated side and one of 2. If neither or both us and Huddersfield lose, it would be a new record for the second tier.
I'm going up BnQ
Just proves that draws aren't worthy.
