I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
Driving towards Cardiff this afternoon we notice the traffic up ahaed going the oppostie way between junction 19 (M32) and 18 was stopped. We could see smoke.
There was a tank, a Main battle Tank, on fire on the hard shoulder with a 100 ton tank transporter in front of it. God knows how they got it off the wagon. As we went further the traffic was already backed up past the M32 and reaching for the M5, and this at 4.30 in the afternoon. Recovering that is going to cause some problem if they can't drive it back onto the transporter.
Never seen a tank on fire like that before, well when not in a battle I mean.
I knew someone would get a round to it. lol
Bugger!
It wasn't on fire. It must have been smoke from the engine as they had just started it up.
The transporter had a flat tyre and the had to drive the tank off to replace it.

Some good pictures though.
Shell shocked!!!!!
they could have just shut the inside / slow lane, overkill to shut the 2 lanes
This story has tanked
Tanks for the memories.
It's blown up in his face
I am surprised the Old Bill didnt send an Armed Response Unit.
Tanked up again?
Clearly it's Tank and his boys on their way back from Nottingham after the FA Cup game a few weeks ago. maybe they'll make it back to the Warraliberty Stadium for tonight's replay.
I don't think anyone is on the right track. The driver has turrets syndrome.
