It may be that living ain't all it's cracked up to be - and that not living is better. Silenus (Ancient Greek fella) once said that living was awful (or words to that effect) and that it would be better 'to die soon'.
Just asking like!

Is she the pregnant one you were discussing recently?Originally Posted by Gwynedd Blue wrote on Wed, 27 May 2015 18:51
No - that would be an impossibility, I'm afraid. Had the OP in my thirties - how ridiculous is that eh!Originally Posted by Taunton Blue Genie wrote on Wed, 27 May 2015 18:56
So are you saying that someone else got your sheep pregnant?Originally Posted by Gwynedd Blue wrote on Wed, 27 May 2015 19:31
Yes - you are correct. I'm simply not the man I used to be.Originally Posted by Taunton Blue Genie wrote on Wed, 27 May 2015 19:34
Nobody lives.
We are all slowly dying, and have been since birth.
It is for me and I really would not in any other way at all.
I have nearly found a good way to live, but I just can't get enough work. So glad that you (appear) to have found it.Originally Posted by Croesy Blue wrote on Wed, 27 May 2015 19:39
My wife bought me a lottery ticket the other day, and for a while we laughed about what we would do with the life changing money, when it dawned on me that I didn't really want my life to change and that I'm happy as I am. Sure, I wish I didn't have these aches and pains and I'd like to not have to worry about old age but right now, I really do count my blessings.
Since Slade was appointed life has become a pain football-wise.
However handing in my notice today in work to try and become master of my own destiny. So on balance, Slade/Young apart, it's worth living

That's a good place to be - and money won't necessarily buy it.Originally Posted by TH63 wrote on Thu, 28 May 2015 07:29

I'm thinking about doing something similar i.e. going part-time in a lower paid job which has a bit of meaning attached to it.Originally Posted by TH63 wrote on Thu, 28 May 2015 12:48
We start off dribbling, incontinent and totally reliant on others for all of our needs. We learn to do things for ourselves, but then towards the end of our lives we dribble, are incontinent and become totally reliant again on others for all of our needs.Originally Posted by bobh wrote on Wed, 27 May 2015 19:38

Why not work for yourself?
You are in control of your own destiny then, to an extent anyway. I find it extremely rewarding and far less pressurised than when I was working for major PLC's.
Also, you choose to work the hours that you want to and not what is demanded or expected of you.
Or when you work, do somethin you enjoyOriginally Posted by Croesy Blue wrote on Thu, 28 May 2015 13:02
I do.Originally Posted by adz-a32 wrote on Thu, 28 May 2015 13:03

Thanks, notice has been given to boss. I'm going to try my hand at property developing which has up to now been a sideline, it's got to be better than putting up with other peoples' deadlines and priorities. Any spare time will be used to further the outlaw biker theme I have going at the moment.Originally Posted by Jimmy the Jock wrote on Thu, 28 May 2015 08:16
