It's best to use the Taxify mobile app to order taxis apparently.

I visited all four Baltic states last year. Riga has a totally different character to prettier capitals to the north and south (i.e. Tallinn and Vilnius). However, it does have its own character as it is obvious that it has been a very important merchantile city port over the centuries - and more interesting than Helsinki, in my opinion.

You weren't really giving him advice though, just boasting about where you'd been.

I went there once on my tour of 99,999 cities, which was part of my goal to visit every country in the world, plus Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Pluto, and a day-trip to the Sun. All I can say is it took a bloody lot of Euros to complete the task!

I think stag weekends might have changed a bit since your day.

    Re: Riga

I have been there a few times on my travels and recently been to two stag weekends there. Plenty to do and if you have money you can do anything you wish . You can even pay someone to have the stag kidnapped from a club etc etc . We also did quad biking, firing range with numerous weapons .paintballing , beer is about £1 a pint ,some places a lot less.
