Who played well today then?? Anyone??Originally Posted by ninianboy1 wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:52
Again I was surprised he stayed on the pitch until the end - had an awful game. I would have swapped him for Noone fairly soon into the second half.Originally Posted by ninianboy1 wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:52
Now I know you are taking the pee eye doubble sOriginally Posted by heath/ccfc wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:57
I do, but I still think a Jonses/Ameobi partnership would be more effective once they got going.Originally Posted by tigerbaybluebird wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:54
I loved it , we went second.Originally Posted by @CCFCProgrammes wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:00
I know I'm not normally Noone's biggest fan but I thought Pilkington went missing today.Originally Posted by heath/ccfc wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:57
Mason is the best finisher at the club. He is definitely not strong or quick but he is strong enough and quick enough.
Think he's going to turn into a EPL player
So let me get this right, if you had your way you wouldn't have chosen our two goal scorers to start today ??Originally Posted by ninianboy1 wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:58
I think it was more a case of surprise that he wasn't replacing Ralls down the left, not that ralls had a bad game, but he's not a winger. Booing him was a bit mad though, as was the geezer near me shouting that Slade was a "****ing prick" because nobody was on the end of ameobi's cross and we had to defend a bit in the last five minutes.
If Cardiff do well I will enjoy having my opinions rammed down my throat every week....Originally Posted by Father Dougal wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 17:04
Got a great footballing brain which gives him time and space.Originally Posted by Kitman wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 19:00
He scored the first goal.....................Originally Posted by ninianboy1 wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 19:00
I would have started with Pilkington given his form of late but I thought he had a poor game by his standards today.Originally Posted by tigerbaybluebird wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 19:01
Marshall, Fabio, Conolly, Whitts and Ameobi were the standout players for me.Originally Posted by tigerbaybluebird wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:56
Add Mason and Jones to that list for me.Originally Posted by ninianboy1 wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 19:09
It wasn't great football, but it was more enjoyable than virtually every game last season and better than many in the promotion season so I'm not complaining.Originally Posted by Vimana. wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:55
Ameobi changed the game when he came on, Fabio had a decent game, and Ralls.Originally Posted by tigerbaybluebird wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 18:56
Yeah, pretty dull 60 or so minutes but we've seen improvement in quality of football this season and think it was just Huddersfield were good at pressing the ball and making it difficult to play the ball around higher up the pitch.
Ameobi changed the game due to his pace, stretched Huddersfield defence and made some really intelligent runs, when a team is pressing difficult to always play the ball in to a player like Jones where as Ameobi will make something happen by getting in behind the defence.
Pretty average performance overall, nice composure by Mason for his, don't care about performance as much when we win.
On to Hull!!
There is no such thing as the EPL!!!!!Originally Posted by Kitman wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 19:00
3 tough games coming up. Let's see where we are then!Originally Posted by Daniel15 wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 17:13
So if 5 of them were outstanding it means none of them wereOriginally Posted by ninianboy1 wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 19:09
Whittingham was largely anonymous in the first half but got more into it 2nd half when not so deep, and one for the collectors; a great tackle in the 84th minute.
When are City going to get a dynamic, pacy midfield ball carrier who can run at and pass through the opposition rather than only a central defender (Connelly) trying to do it?
Yes, I commented on that at the time. We have a few players who don't look capable of managing 90 minutes. Although Fabio lasted the whole match...Originally Posted by Cretin Hop wrote on Sat, 12 September 2015 19:38
