The Press ? Just like the usual suspects (except one) who's only contribution to the thread is to label a few Nazi's tried to blank this incident out, luckily the BBC etc. Etc. No longer have a monopoly.

Who has blanked this incident out?

In fact it was a series of incidents - organised and planned criminal assaults against women (including several reported rapes) in at least 3 countries - Germany, Switzerland and Finland.

The perpetrators deserve to be arrested, prosecuted, imprisoned and (in some cases) deported. The role of the police and the media should be properly investigated, as seems now to be happening in Germany at least. No cover ups.

I'm a left-wing person but even I can see that if a certain group of people are responsible for a terrible crime like those seen in Cologne then we should be allowed to at least point it out!

However, the 'incidents' have also given a wide range of people (including racists and facists - Nazis - across Europe and beyond) another excuse to label all asylum seekers, all Muslims, all 'others' as rapists and murderers and terrorists. If you doubt that just look at the comments under any major online news story - or perhaps one or two other football messageboards. It is open season.

It's called deflection.
