Sadly, I agree and they would have been prosecuted if they were from an underprivileged family

Blood found in McCanns' hire car 'DID come from Madeleine'

"Traces of blood found in Gerry and Kate McCanns' hire car and holiday flat DID belong to Madeleine, it has been claimed."

"It is understood that they are using a new technique called low copy number analysis" - that technique has been in place since 1999, so hardly new - even when this was reported in 2008.

"The samples from the flat and the hire car were said to be damaged and of low quality,"

    Not exactly convincing is it?

I'm not trying to convince anyone, I'm just saying you can see why people would think that given the headline, the term "It has been claimed" is often used in news that they expect us to believe too btw, or the classic 'information from an unnamed source'

The forensics report (I appreciate it's no Daily Mail....) had no mention of her blood in the car and the DNA didn't match.

I suppose it's a case of who to believe. Forensics report or the Daily Mail with an unnamed source......

Was there only one forensics report? Just one forensics session / outcome?

Blimey, what were they doing, all that time, all that effort, all that money?
Or did the authorities and their forensics revisit , a few times? I thought maybe they did.

I didn't say I believed it, it's just what many people think because there were so many stories about it at the time, many people will have just read the headline, you know what some of these sheeple are like.

To be fair, we are bombarded with crap all the time, you have to be on your toes to keep up with the news, especially when stories get retracted but are hidden away in a tiny corner on page seven.

Stop spreading Daily Mail links then, as we've already both said some people will believe anything.

It's probably better than never evaluating anything that might be contentious /challenging, instead happily accepting everything that is mainstream / easy /convenient / safe / low effort . But I'm not sure you'd believe that.

Nah, not at all, I meant exactly what I wrote - 'mainstream / easy /convenient / safe / low effort' . Your stomping ground? ! - though 'stomping' may well be a tad too energetic a verb

Out of interest, if you had to choose, what would you believe (remembering that all the info is just read of the internet) a Forensic report or an unnamed source in the Daily Mail?

McCann's libel case against the Portugese detective has been overturned. He now intends to sue them! Interesting development.
