Conformation bias should be a eureka moment for anybody who assumes that they are critical thinkers. The media know that your brain is like putty, just waiting to be filled up with their crap, and most people are complient by the time they leave high school.

Forget about the personalities involved, but I find this article pretty depressing. i agree with the things said about specialist journalists having their reputations shredded, but, apparently, elections are won these days by the candidate who is "more entertaining" and generates "more passion" - a Facebook candidate for the Facebook generation.

When it comes to elections you have 2 choices normally - those that offer the same and those that offer a change.

Clinton offered the same - Trump was offering a change.

Who was the one who stood up in New Mexico and told Ford that if they close their factory down there and move it to Mexico and then try and re import cars , then they would face an import tarif so high it would make their cars impossible to sell.

Giving 'the people' hope, what they want to hear and a solution as to how it will be done will win votes compared to someone who does nothing.

It would have been nice if Carwyn Jones could have and would have done that for Port Talbot - instead he marched off to the EU HQ and said - ah ok - fair enough then - nowt I can do.

Regarding the mainstream media, Wikileaks proved beyond doubt that they are lying slime-balls. I think the USA is ahead of us regarding the alternative media, this can be seen in the way the general public swallowed all the propaganda regarding Miliband and Corbyn. However a turning point may have occurred over Brexit, as people started waking up to what what going on.

It's easy to spot the influence of the media, as people usually regurgitate the message when discussing various topics. Some even go a step further, and use the alternative media as a tool to ridicule those who have a different opinion.

He may well have been offering change but the reality will be somewhat different I feel.

It's very easy to stand on the sidelines and shout soundbites for cheap headlines. Not so easy to implement them when most of it is bollox.

He's already backtracking on healthcare (not so bad now he's thought about it) and building a wall (perhaps a fence would be cheaper and less symbolic?) - give him time and he'll be just another lying politician that he spent his campaign rallying against.

Personally I think he'll be lucky to last a couple of years.
