Severe delays today throughout South Wales according to Arriva's live update here: https://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/
Their excuse is: 'Major disruption to trains through Cardiff Central, due to overrunning engineering work.'

Because of the engineering work the trains are all over the place. There is no service between Queen St and Central, so Merthyr, Aberdare and Treherbert trains are being diverted down the City line to Central, some of these trains are stopping at Ninian Park from about 12.30 but not the other City line stations.
There are trains from Coryton but they are only going to Heath Low Level so you have to change to High Level to get to Queen St.
Rhymney trains are going to the bay. Ebbw Vale trains are stopping at Newport with a replacement bus to Cardiff.

Mistake above, Treherbert trains are going to the bay, not Central.
I believe the engineering work was scheduled to go on till Monday with normal service resuming on Tuesday with the new platform 8 at Central open and extra capacity in all the other platforms, so there should be a better service in future.
No, supposed to be normal service today and tomorrow. Arriva are shite!
The people who repair the tracks are not very good
Train workers (the ones I know anyway) rarely suffer from stress, it's because they have the attitude "we'll get you there when we get you there"
Admirable in a lot of ways but frustrating as hell for the consumer and affects so many businesses and workers further down the line (apologies for light hearted pun in rather a serious thread )
Normal service on the rest of the network, not South Wales
