It's just the usual speculation. How would they possibly know how much we are planing on bidding? As if the club lets anyone know beforehand. Also it says we've been after him for 12 months. We've had two new mangers since then!!

According to HITC who originally broke news of the club's interest.../.

Seems the offer might be tempting as the report also says Aberdeen are looking at possible replacements

Is he any good? I ain't heard of him to be honest
We must be absolutely mad ....... One million pound for that guy is crazy money
The guy is 29 and previously struggled in the lower leagues so yeah £1m does seem OTT
My first instinct was that we shouldn't be looking to spend what is a lot of money by our recent standards on a player who will be 30 in July, but it's encouraging to read how highly the Aberdeen fans rate him. He may not be in the Tony Book class (former Man City captain, and City Assistant Manager I believe, who signed for his first Football League club - Plymouth - at thirty and retired at the age of forty having made over three hundred and twenty appearances), but some players are late developers, perhaps the best of Hayes' career is still to come?
Bid made by Cardiff last night - and rejected by Aberdeen:

So we put in a low bid, who knows how much it was, you do not put in a bid for what you actually want to pay.
Think footballers who look after themselves can mature and play on into the age of 35 at most levels now , this lad may see this a good chance to earn a good buck and secure his future financially , and perhaps force himself into the Irish team who may yet qualify from their group ??
There is a strange irony here i grant you. When i was complaining in the summer and then aug about our lack of ambition in the transfer market i was slapped down with the old chesnut of the fair play rules? Now its different. We can pay this kind of money for a player who at 29 has participated in just 24 english league games and 200 in the scottish leagues ?? Surely those of you with a good grasp of the game must think there is better use of our scant resources and in any case ma ny feel kadeem harris deserves a chanceim not one of them btw. We continue to dilute our squad with players who are poorer than the ones we release. This guy probably as good as noone but dare i sy we might sell noone for more money in jan?
£1m for a guy with no proof of talent at this level, no resale value at the end of the contract and a position that's not in the most need of replacement.
Honestly, I don't get it.
If you speak to Aberdeen fans they wax lyrically about him, he's one of the best players in the SPL in their minds, and probably cheapish wages. In a world where Scott Hogan is worth £15m we've got to shop in the bargain basement. Maybe NW feels that at £1m ish he's a very good player and good value. I must admit I'm not overly excited about him but we're now in a crazy league. £15m for a guy with 2 serious knee injuries already in his career who's not had a full season in the Championship, we have to look elsewhere to compete.
You make a coupla good points , 1m for a 29 year old seems a lot,BUT, if we drop down another league this club becomes worth Jack Shit, therefore a 1M gamble doesn't look so crazy, is he up to the task ? Looking at the reaction from Aberdeen supporters, probably, he has been a late developer.
Kadeem has been getting chances, he is OK, some weeks looks fine , other weeks looks worse than average, would love the lad to be a smash hit, we have been waiting for him to crack it for long enough.
Noone plays well one week, poorly for two, not nearly consistent enough but a step up from Kadeem.
