So very sorry to write this but I know most of you will know him, but Mark Watkins (Dr Pop) sadly passed away yesterday. I've just read a post from Irene on Facebook. To say I'm shocked is an understatement. A top, top bloke and an absolute Gentleman.
Sincere condolences to Irene & family.

That is awful, shocking news. I met Mark a few times and can only echo your description of him. If you fall into the category of someone who knows the name, but cannot put a face to it, Mark is the City fan sat on the right (the one who does very well in answering questions from 82/83) in this video which was posted on here a few days ago.

Mark also wrote this book
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Our-Ninian-.../dp/0957205503
back in 2012 and a very good read it was too,
I'm sure that most on here will have come across Mark at sometime or other at a City game or club related event - this news has certainly taken a lot of the gloss off yesterday's very good win for me.
Heartfelt condolences to Mark's family and friends.
RIP to, as Steve says, a top, top bloke who was no age at all.
Sincere condolence to all family and friends , R I P Dr Pop.
RIP, very sad to hear.
I remember Mark from his book to which I made a very small input and a true gentleman to communicate with.
Condolences to his family and friends.
Heard about this early yesterday, but was asked to keep out off social media until Irene had enough time to personally contact close friends and relatives.
Had many holidays with Mark & Irene, most notably NEW YORK in 1999, where we spent 5 lovely days in their company. Cocktails on top of the TWIN TOWERS being one of the memories.
Mark for years was the treasurer of CCSC and he was the most honest and lovely person I have ever had the joy of meeting, the man wouldn't harm a fly.
Goodnight, god bless, will miss you terribly at games.
No ones going to get hold of the mike at karaoke in heaven that easily any more.
RIP Mark.
Shocking & so sad.

Awful news to wake up to . RIP Mark from the Neath Bluebirds.

So sad. RIP Dr Pop.
I was lucky enough to have known Mark very well. Myself and Garry had a great holiday together in Madeira with Mark and Irene (it was the time when the City were supposed to be on a preseason tour but it was called off last minute). Mark kindly drove us around the island in a car he'd hired and we spent some nights in the local pubs wining the quizzes, Mark had an amazing memory for trivia. Mark was also great on the CCFC phone in and gave up his time for the supporters club for years and the children, DJing at their Christman party. Our hearts go out to Irene and and all Marks family RIP Bluebird xxx
very sad and very young to leave us.
i reemember he was in charge of our coach to wrexham in 1993.
my mate who was with me thought he looked like the singer from D'ream.
