Who was the last player we signed that you could genuinely say got you excited about the club?
Bellam3
The last signing that got me excited about the club was Gary Medel (Aug 2013) based mainly on radio interviews with Tim Vickery. At the time we were also linked with Jefferson Montero and it felt like Cardiff were really showing ambition and astuteness, and knew our way around players and leagues that we had never been associated with before. This was the heyday of Malky's Dossier!
Before that it was Craig Bellamy on the permanent transfer (Aug 2012).
Peter Thorne
Koumas and later on Bellamy.
Routledge
Dave Bennett
Koumas... and he didn't disappoint
Whitts, couldn't believe we picked him up for £300K.
Thought he must have had a leg chopped off or something.
Class then and class now.

I think some are confusing the question, it was the last player you were excited about! Has to be Bellamy surely, I remember watching various media all day until he eventually came out and faced the public. It, for us as a club was truly astonishing. There have been a few before that I'd think we did well to get him, Chopra back for example, but this was Craig Bellamy.
The little Norwegian Messi...aka Mats Møller Dæhli.
Proved to be rather ineffective in Championship football.
Bellamy, won a few quid as well!
And his brother , to be fair when we signed Bennet I was shocked, he was a big player at the time relatively young at 27 ,think he was still a regular with Man City, and the year before he had appeared in a cup final with them .
Might be wrong , memories are fading .
Who wrote that? ?
Kavanagh and Thorne
Or
Willie Anderson
I asked the question as I'm under the impression that we haven't signed anyone in quite a few years that has got us remotely excited. The responses certainly confirm that. In general it would appear that we tend to get more enthused by bringing in players that are creative and attacking, understandable enough - we've certainly failed in that regard over a number of seasons.
Our status as a team that has been in the Premier League probably has an effect, too. 13 years ago, when we got promoted back to this level, signings like Macheda and Le Fondre would have been seen far more positively.
I thought it was an interesting question. The answers confirm the malaise we've been in.
Genuinly, Gavin Gordon
Bellamy and then possibly Medel
