    Re: Being a Bluebird

Thinly veiled attempt by Tan to pit the valleys against each other. Who will emerge as The Valley?

No mention of the Vale either. OK Tan, now it's personal.

Fine sentiments in the OP though.
Where did those words come from Mike?

I think it's part of the season ticket renewal blurb

This kind of thing makes me feel estranged from the 'family'. Which team's fans are fine with players giving less than 100%? Ooh, it's the Cardiff way: give your all and we'll appreciate it - you won't if he's a carthorse on ten grand a week. And I prefer baguettes.

'Football today has changed a lot' doesn't make sense unless it really has undergone a transformation since breakfast.

Blurb it is. Probably tugs at the heartstrings, and pursestrings, of those easily swayed. Football has changed a lot, Tan has tried changing it more than many.

It does make sense, of course, because absolutely everyone understands the meaning.

Using 'today' after a noun is often a synonym for 'nowadays', as it is in that sentence. Putting 'today' at the end of the sentence would change the meaning to 'it happened today'.

    'Nowadays' is fine by me.

You must go crazy with idioms.

"But it's just water falling from the sky, where are the animals that everyone's talking about?"

I was being a tad playful, old fruit. I love idioms and especially learning about those in other languages.
Did you know that the surface of cobbled streets in Dutch is described as 'kinderkopjes' i.e. the heads of small children?

Can you only be a 'tad' playful when the word implies that you are full of play?
