If memory serves me right it was a FA cup game.
I was sat in the grandstand and it seemed like everything happened is slow motion.
Who was our keeper that day? I can't think for the life of me.

Mark Walton, how the fook did I forget that
For some reason I had it in my head that it was a reserve keeper.
Am I right in thinking that that was the game that our fans were chanting at Rodney Jack "you jack bastard"? And afterwards we were accused of being racist by the media because they thought we were chanting black instead of Jack.

Willie Donachie did a belter for Scotland against Wales which always made me roar

That's the best o.g. I can ever remember seeing. He'll never hit a cleaner shot than that

Yes, something like that. I think he got the same chant when they came to us the following year in the league, but knew what it was about.

Thinking back, Crewe were a side I wanted us to be as good as. How times change!

Wasn't it a horrible day, very wet and windy? Crap match with no talent shown on the day and the own goal summed up the whole game - awful!

No, we beat Rovers 5-1 in the cup around that time, Earnie scored a hattrick.

Bowen's goal was even the closing credits on MOTD, don't ask me how I remember that!

Weird right? The seemed like they had a good set up with Dario Gradi and were seen as a good footballing side. I also used to wish we just get back into (old) second division and have crowds of around 15,000.
