Cornelius transfer cost the Club £20 million!
It would have cost the club £20m if he'd stayed for the whole length of his contract. That's what the article actually says.
Old news, I thought we knew this 3 years ago?
This is what Lim stated previously:
"In the case of Andreas Cornelius, who cost the club in total just under £10m, we realise a large loss in excess of £8.5m, inclusive of transfer fees, salaries, business and compensation paid to player's agents and other miscellaneous expenses".
If that was my money I would be tamping still
Vinnie has a point though. I remember Cornelius picked up an injury soon after he arrived which seemed to drag on forever. Now we know why, Malky must have realised that he had signed a plonker and was just trying to delay the inevitable.
Best manager weve ever had i wont slag him off.
His career has hardly flourished since though has it?
I'm beginning to think that the best manager we ever had is still here.
We didn't "release him".

Fee was what £10m? We sold for I believe £5m? There's a loss of £5m straight away. Add in wages paid out to Cornelius, add in agent fees. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a clause in there giving the player a bonus if we sell them as opposed to player requesting a move.
For consistency, i have always maintained that MM has been the most overrated manager during my time supporting the club, whilst this is old news, my views have not changed, spent a shed load and got the club in the premier, his achievement cannot be taken away. I think Warnock would have done it on 25% of MM budget and kept the team in the premier league. Nasty Horrible individual to boot.
Malky better than scoular?
Even though what he says is right Tan needs to shut up about it now and move on.
Its as boring as those still banging on about the rebrand.
Fred Stewart.
FA Cup winners, Charity Shield winners, 5 Welsh cups, Div One runners-up, Div 2 runners-up, FA Cup finalists.
A City manager who kept his job for 22 years.
In short, it was a complicated time for this club (to put it mildly in an attempt to not open up old wounds) and Tan does himself no favours to speak out in this manner.
Was Malky an idiot also when he made £5m profit for Vincent on Jordon Mutch
I'd doubt they'd necessarily say it to the media, who really cares after all but possibly in any speaking engagements they do as an anecdote. Had heard rumours he was woeful in training, but those are still just rumours.
The reality is, regardless of how he develops in the future, Mackay and Moody dropped the ball big time. I'd imagine Tan is still furious because it seemed Mackay failed to accept that, instead making excuses. £10m deal, £45k per week, giving the guy the number 9 shirt tends to indicate he was expected to play an integral part of keeping us up. For Mackay to then claim that Acorn was a "project for the future"... can see that would rub Tan up the wrong way, having bigged the player up to get the funds then downplaying him almost immediately.
Caulker was a poor signing imo - shone at Swansea next to Williams. Expecting him to lead our defence? Eh... was caught out of position plenty of times, but seemed immune to criticism. Medel looked decent early on, but second half of the season was fairly anonymous. I'd suggest both signings would have been close to Acorn type failures if we'd not been able to recoup the money spent on them.
Seems to me Tan has been guilty of backing managers almost too much! Trusted Mackay and Moody, trusted Ole, trusted Trollope, gave each of them the funds. Warnock seems to be someone Tan can actually trust without worrying about being burnt on bad deals.
