Thread: The difference a proper manager can make.

The difference a proper manager can make.

This time last year seems like a lifetime away. Remember just how shit we were under PT? Winless, goal less and clueless and even after only a few games looking like utter garbage destined for a relegation fight.

Fast forward 12 months and look at us now - a proper team with pace, power, aggression and self belief.

All credit to NW for taking this team by the scruff of the neck and showing the fans just what can be achieved by hard work, commitment and a willingness to give 100% every time they step out onto the pitch.

Early days of course but pretty amazing how four games can transform the whole feeling around the club - you know times are good when even City fans have got nothing to moan about.

It's easy to support manager/players when we are winning. Proper fans do it regardless.

Rubbish. Support the players yes, but Trollope and OGS were useless and we had every right to voice our opinions on here.

Tbf Slade had a job to do, and he did it well.
The problem was that providing entertaining football didn't form part of the job description.

Where is Trollope working? How long did we give him?
It took NW SEVEN years to get the Blades promoted.
It all boils down to winning all this bollox about attractive football is nonsense.

We weren't winning under Trollope. We were heading for relegation. Unattractive football wasn't the reason he had to go

I would suggest that Trollope wasn't a manager, but a great assistant and coach.

In any case, you've always maintained that Trollope had little to do with where we finished under Slade. Now you're pointing out he's plying his trade in the PL. Which is it?

A lot of posters said they would not mind relegation as long as the club was building a solid foundation.
The point I am making is the only thing that is important is results. All this BS about youngsters/academy
is only relevant when the manager and team are struggling.

    We gave Trollope 7 months.

Like a relationship, sometimes you just know it's never going to work.

We were second bottom, having scored 8 goals from 11 games (with two of them being own goals) and had only garnered 8 points whilst playing awful football having won just 2 games (both against teams who would be relegated that season)

We'd just lost 2-0 away at Burton Albion with one of the worst displays I'd seen from a Cardiff side, it was getting a bit ugly in the stand, there was an obvious disconnect between the fans and the team, there was abuse being poured on Trollope and the players and it looked for all the world as if we were destined to be relegated

    He had to go

Well if that is the point you're making then clearly Trollope had to go surely?

That said, I'm not sure that really is the point you're making as previously you stated we should've given Trollope more time?

You're all over the place here
