I loved American Honey on Sky Cinema.
But it won't be everyones cup of tea.

The new planet of the apes is pretty good as well. A few cheesy moments but then it is a blockbuster I suppose. I have to say I am quite enjoying this new series of it.

Good but a hell of a slog. 143 minutes.
Don't believe the adverts, it really isn't as action packed as it makes out.
More along the lines of Selma only Selma is superior.
Exploitation cinema at its finest. A few scenes so you like the main characters, then put them in all sorts of bother shortly after. Pulling at your heartstrings.
Really good. Not that scary really. Mark Kermode (like him or hate him) described it as an adventure horror.
People were still jumping all over the place in the cinema.
If you like Netflix's Stranger Things you will like this 100%.
"Hellllloooo georgiieeeee"
Saw The Limehouse Golem, really enjoyed it.
The trailer makes it out to be more of a horror than it actually is, really its a Victorian set whodunit set around the music halls.
Excellent cast with Bill Nighy excellent as always and a really interesting structure.
Had me guessing right till the end.
Good thread this, some good recommendations to watch and avoid
Saw Baby Driver the other day. Really cool film - very stylish throughout. A love story running through it with some excellent car chases and a good story. Also watched the The House which was actually quite laugh out loud funny in places. Best I have seen in a while is Colossal though - my kind of abstract film.
American Made was decent I thought and would recommend it as a "watch just the once" type film.
Not going to be a classic by any stretch but it's good if you've got 2hrs spare one evening.
The Lobster. It's a black comedy I think. It amused me and kept me interested. Very different and a bit daft but worth watching.
I think the only film of his I could recommend to others is Irreversible, and that would just be based on how good Bellucci and Cassel are, everything else I've seen of his has been an effort to finish.
There's one particular shot in Love that must have been a bit weird in 3d..
It would have had me ducking for cover..
Say no more. Pretty sure he wanted to be the first director in history to **** on his audience. Very French.
Talking of French, just watched "Incendies". It was nominated a few years ago for best foreign language oscar. Subtitled which puts some off but an excellent film. 8.5/10 for me. Story of a mother and her seperated kids, war torn middle east. Hell of a story
Gerald's Game on Netflix is an excellent adaptation of a really underrated Stephen King book.
Big horror fan but one scene had me looking away from the tele, thats not happened in a while.
Finally got a copy of "Sorcerer" a month or so ago which has at last been released on blu ray and DVD too I think for folks who like to watch with a good set up. Directed by William Friedkin (The French Connection, To Live and Die in L.A., Bug, The Excorcist). Remake of amazing "Wages of Fear". Not sure which version I prefer, but they are both great - tense and dark.
Tangerine Dream do the soundtrack.
Just found this dodgy upload on the yootoobs. Looks like it's been transferred from VHS and is pan & scan so is cropped.
