Yep, and I think the decision may have an impact on this policy too.

The slippery slope regarding a minimum alcohol price law is that it will start off low, so that it will be easily accepted into law, and then they will keep on increasing it!

I think may be a ploy to replace revenue being lost from the decline of the pub trade?

Re: Bad news for binge drinkers?

More profits for the supermarkets, more VAT to the government.

Personally I wouldn't touch "cheap" booze with a barge pole, I mean who wants to drink a £3 bottle of wine? But then again I a. don't drink much and b. I can afford decent stuff.

As far as I can see, the only people who are going to be affected are those who can't afford decent stuff. This could lead to more black market vodka etc, crime and potentially an increase in the abuse of other, more harmful stimulants.

I don't drink much either, but I have started brewing my own craft beer!

I often wonder how Wetherspoons accounts it’s meal and drink offers as they’re ludicrously cheap.

Binge drinkers is a little unfair to label people. The French (big generalisation I know) have a small glass of wine with food at lunch and tea every day. Is that binge drinking?

A lot of people will just ‘upbrand’ and the drinking will carry on as normal.

Fair play, you can be quite witty when you’re not threatening people with no legs.

Nobody was threatened and I'd hazard a guess that the "new" poster you refer to has legs that work perfectly well.

I love the way stumbling about from side to side after 2 pints simulates the feeling of having drunk 10 pints.

Ive offered to meet him several times now but hes ignoring my pms. All talk and no walk.

Clearly got brave after a few beers. Hopefully binge drinking tax will put a stop to his threatening pms.

    My advice: keep moving.

Binge drinkers, strivers and shirkers, it's standard government language when they want to change policy.
