Like most keepers he is prone to the odd moment of madness and his kicking is sometimes wayward.
And earlier this season he was beaten in one to one situations twice by headers.
But his shot stopping is good, he has a good presence and is confident.
I'm not sure what Lee Camp could offer that is better and so I'd stick with NE. With more first team football I believe he will become even better.
He has a couple of calamity moments but he seems to be getting better.
We wouldn't have said "improving" if they had equalised from the last minute corner that he gave away for no reason
Best goalie in the Championship.
Agree with all if the above ,he's improved, he makes odd mistakes ,which keeper doesn't?? I remember Marshall not being perfect in coming off his line and distributing poorly .
I first thought get Camp in asap, however I now think ,
he's developing quickly, with every game, he knows the team ,he has great spirit and commitment ,comes off the line with pace ,something Marshall lacked, hes a good shot stopper .
Let's keep him there ,we got this far with him .
Jury still out for me. Got a lot to learn.
A few posters have commented, especially earlier in the season, about the fact he doesn't command the area, something Marshall was often criticised for. I totally disagree, as well as being a good shot stopper I think that he's noticeably better coming out for crosses and corners as any recent keeper we've had.
I suppose any improvement should be credited to the work he's doing with Andy Dibble.
Warnock said Camp is still some way off being ready for first team consideration last week.
Was he a Warnock signing ? Where did we get him from ?
His kicking is crap and led to the goal against bham.
He's ok and that's about it for me. I'd keep him ahead of camp but he's nowhere near the level Marshall was at.
So that goal was nothing to do with the defence parting like the red sea then ?. You pick on an isolated mistake in a match where he generally played very well and indicate the loss is all his fault. All outfield players also give the ball away at some point during a game but usually no mention is made of it afterwards. He's definately better than Marshall was at the same stage of his career and deserves to keep his place.
