Well as some people didn’t want to just take my word for it (fair enough) I had to look it up yeah, but I had heard about this rule previously.

I was just trying to be a smart alec.

Unless the ball bounces the keeper is deemed to be in control of the ball.

“A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball when:
*bouncing it on the ground or throwing it in the air”
