Religion?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/articl...nativity-scene
Possibly not.
When you say any other religion, what you really mean is Islam isn’t it. Of course they wouldn’t have used Islamic imagery, and the reason is obvious. This advert has resulted in a minor kerfuffle on twitter, whereas if they had substituted Mohammed for a sausage roll, the repercussions would probably have been very serious.
Any way, all this talk of sausage rolls is making me peckish. Anyone know for a late nite Greggs?
It’s fine, it’s okay to take the piss out of Christianity apparently.
Best way to get the MOST publicity is to cause outrage.
If it was just a photo of a sausage roll, only Stevie R would be interested
I also happy to see (all) religion an open subject for mirth.
It may well be that Christianity is imagined to be a faith that is tolerant and broad minded enough to deal with a bit of ribbing?
At worst, having a laugh might at it's expense might attract a stern letter from someone in Tunbridge Wells. Is that bad?
We've seen stuff like Life of Brian and Dave Allen, Vicar of Dibley, Father Ted - and a thousand other things for decades, and 'Christian' religious satire for centuries.
I'm just gonna be outraged for the sake of it, as there's **** all on telly.
Absolutely nothing wrong with it..but there we are..
Indeed.
Look at this comment supposedly from the article (but equally likely made up by some tw*t on the editorial):
"I'm glad Christians kicked off and Greggs apologised," wrote one Twitter user. "No other religion would stand for that nonsense."
So then, Christians / Uncommitteds have to become less tolerant and more uptight - to make it equal.
I’m catholic and I’m not offended.
But if they’d used an image of Mo, then there would’ve been huge public outcry and the boss of Greggs would be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.
Bizarre advert in the first place. Looks like something the muppets on The Apprentice come up with.
I was refering to this young lady from the current series

^^ who is he TH? does he always wear that blonde wig?
Islam doesn't have weird shit like nativity scenes and the people who come up with the idea were probably nominally christian (like most people in the UK) or actually practising Christians. I doubt very much that it was a muslim who created that advert. Taking the piss out of your own culture and beliefs is a lot different to taking the piss out of others.
The nativity scene didn't even frigging happen in the bible, let alone in real life.
It's on the front page of tomorrow's Sun. Greggs will be very disappointed with themselves over this.
The headline is Jesus Crust
