Sky Bet have Thierry Henry at 9/1 also.
No RONALD KOEMAN on that list !
Not that I'm advocating him, just that bookies nearly always put every name in the frame.
Thierry Henry for me, working alongside the same backroom staff.
Can’t believe the bitterness toward Giggs. Ok. He never turned up for his country on many an occasion, but neither do the fans. He has no managerial experience, but knows the game inside out. I’d rather have him in charge, than a foreigner any day.
Pulis for me, with young assistant to bring through. If Chris Coleman can achieve what he did, then Pulis with his experience will do for me.
Noooooooooooooo, anyone but Giggs. He showed no passion or commitment whatsoever. He could have been an inspirational type of figure for up n' coming younger players. Instead he was lazy and half-arsed about playing for the country of his birth. Also he has no experience of managing a club, let alone an international one. Let him earn his spurs at a non-league team, by doing something to prove that he is the man for the job. By say, taking Merthyr into the Football League. Something along those lines. Or let him feck up at a premier league team, which I am sure he would. Go on Giggs take over at Man Ure and bring 'em down to he Championship!
Wait for Zinedine Zidane to get the boot
Given That Bale is fast becoming a crock that is continually injured, I would give him the job!!
Haha who's going to put a tenner on Ray Wilkins. Feck me. Owen Coyle..a fiver each way please Bet Fred. I don't think it will be anybody on that list and if it is then look no further than Giggs. Thierry Henry has to be in with a shout. The FAW know him. They have got the last 2 appointment s right in hindsight. Despite initial negativity against Coleman including me. Interesting to see who's next. I should be on that list at 66/1 given that I won the everything on football manager with City last year.
Which wagg at the office put Martin O"Neill on there. What they saying down you're way Maxim?
There are a solid hardcore of fans that turned up. Time and time again bought their tickets. I have no footballing ability so i did all i could for Wales and bought tickets. Ryan Giggs had all the ability in the world, he just couldn't be bothered for Wales. Its hard to respect him for that. There is a large section of Welsh fans that simply do not like Giggs.
The younger element and the part time fans will love him for his past, and for the prestige.
I get the impression from the players of the time that they do not like Giggs. There are not direct comments but there is something there. Players like Bellamy, Gabbidon, Gunter and Ledley have all made comments that hint that Giggs was not popular.
I get the impression that Giggs is quite a selfish person. You have to be to be as successful individual as a footballer and to have a career as he has done, but this often doesnt translate into management. I cannot see him buying into a together stronger mentality which has seen us do so well. He certainly cannot go to the group of players and demand commitment, because he as an example didnt commit.
We have seen time and time again that the players who worked under Ferguson, do not necessarily make good managers. You have the suggestion that because football comes to easy to them that they cannot understand players who have lesser ability (a suggestion labelled at Roy Keane).
Personally i have seen nothing in Giggs that suggest that he will be a good manager. He isnt even an insightful pundit.
In addition, giggs has never come across as articulate or inspiring.
Many players retire from international football to prolong a club career. (I know giggs didn't retire, thought I'd add that as there are a few smart arses on here who jump on any comment like it's a naked porn star)
Given how long giggs was at the top level of the game, he may have made the wrong choice for Wales fans, but by not playing too often for Wales maybe he helped prolong his club career.
Let the past go lads.
No wonder there are so many people with scrunched up faces in the valleys, if something years on still angers you.
Giggs in the last few weeks signed a consultancy role with Vietnam for two years.
Having the Welsh role would be a conflict of interest.
There is no argument that Giggs made the right decision for his career. There was more glory at Manchester United than Wales. He is a Manchester United legend.
However that came to the detriment of his Welsh career, you cannot expect then Welsh fans to hold him in high esteem for that.
Welsh fans will give a Hughes or a Speed a bit of time to gain experience because they have earnt that respect off the fans. Giggs has neither that respect or a track record.
Bellamy moving up ..
Ryan Giggs 4/5
Tony Pulis 4/1
Craig Bellamy 10/1
Kenny Jackett 12/1
Mark Hughes 16/1
I agree he will never had respect from Wales fans, he had a choice and he made it. I for one don't have an issue with it really. You make your money playing for your club, if he was to do the same at a lesser club and not turn up I'd have to question him the way others on here do..but he was winning trophy after trophy at the highest level. He chose that, Bale has chosen to turn out for Wales. I don't see bale having as long a career, but he will have a proud Wales career to talk about in years to come, and good for him. Each to their own.
Bellamy, Lagerback or that NI manager.
Wouldn't be arsed if Henry got it either. Players are there...
A bit weird how Carl Robinson is not on the betting list. I'd have him as second most likely to get the job. If not favourite.
I think it will be Bellamy or Giggs.
The fact Souness is 33/1 on that list is laughable.
