Game on Sat 20th January.
Sky can't get enough of us all of a sudden, on 4 times in 4 weeks
We were told at the last meeting, that tickets for this would be £42
how much £ do we get as away side?
I have been torn about this fixture ever since the new owners took over at Hillsborough.
I hate paying those prices to a club that exploits away fans (and until this year exploited home fans almost as much).
But it is a 'home' away match for me. I went last year but boycotted the year before. Support the team, or give two fingers to SWFC?
42 fecking quid? Bleeding heck!
Once again travelling fans get shafted by Sky and then given seconds by Wednesday. £42 my arse.
Nice. Will be able to get to the pub for that.
Wolves are being charged £33 for Friday night. Still a rip off.
pay for a team flight up there
I don't think the Sheff Weds ticket prices were actually announced last week at the meeting. I certainly didn't hear it, or make a note on it.
We were told what the allocatIon was and a few of us commented on what the prices were on previous occasions, but there wasn't an official price given.
I'm expecting it to be a lot lower, especially now the game is on TV
Tim, £42 was mentioned as their top price, which our game would be categorised as.
I was not set in stone and I did not say it was. What I said was "it was mentioned"
Can't you remember, when it was mentioned I told the people around the table "I WISH WE WOULD ALL BOYCOTT IT"
£42 may be their top price, but I very much doubt they will charge £33 for Wolves and £42 for us.
You can see from the posts above how it works on the internet. You mention £42 and before you know it everyone thinks that's it.
As for boycotting.I don't think Wednesday care, now if Derby, Forest, Sheff Utd, Leeds, Hull, Barnsley, Bolton all within an hour and other clubs like Villa, Boro, Birmingham and Sunderland etc.. also all a relatively short trip away boycotted them they might think again.
In the meantime they will just scoff at the likes of Fulham, Reading and probably us as having 'shit support'.
I'm hoping to see nearly every game from here in, but I'm in 2 minds over Sheffield Weds as their arrogance, and not just in the prices, but the overall treatment of away fans, makes me loathe to hand my money over to them
By the way I read from a Wolves fan that they are only taking about 1000 up there.
Don't know if that's true, but given they have been taking big followings everywhere it shows that if clubs charge silly money for Fri night Sky fixtures then it WILL affect attendances
We should all go in the home end.
Turn up and pay home prices.
If we plan that it will make it very hard for them to sell home tickets without massive checks.
They have to be shown that we won't be abused.
Instead of boycotting as only hinders our support is there any alternative?
