Chippy Lane sounds like the name of an American golfer

I think it's probably a name used by the Chav community when they goes down the Diff. It's certainly not a description used by intelligent, established residents of our fine City.

We had a huge debate a while back on this I remeber the pre chav days in the late 60's,when Cardiff had a lesser wealth divide , it was called chippy lane at time.

The only ones that call it Chippy Lane are dull farmers daughters from Llandovery and Rugby boyos from Kidwelly...

Used to work for Tony when he had a chippy at the top of Cathedral Road. If I'm not mistaken they're both in the same family.

Would never have bought those thousands of Chicken curry and chips' off the bone from Dorothys if I knew I was shopping in a place called Chippy Lane - one has standards after all!

Whoever dreamed up this moniker for Caroline Street should be tarred and feathered.

My daughter referred to it as this recently and was told to wash her mouth out with soap and water.

I blame the media and rugby supporters.

ps. The double sausage in batter and chips from Dorothy's circa 1977 was my favourite.

They really shouldn't be allowed to sell food that old.

A few years ago my son was discussing a recent night out and mentioned 'Chippy Lane'. I completely blanked him out, pretending not to have heard of it, and said 'it sounds like where Caroline Street used to be'. He now knows better..
