Full backs Alf Sherwood, Ron Stitfall and Alan Harrington did more than enough for the numbers 2 and 3 to be retired. The number 6 shirt could be retired in memory of Billy Hardy, 11 for Jack Evans. What about Phil Dwyer and Peter King ? More deserving causes ? I suppose cases could be made for retiring shirts 1 to 11 just to be on the safe side. Or perhaps just not retire the Whitts shirt because, in the canon of Cardiff City legends, he is not top of the list ?
