Agree that James should have played more, but Gabbs only played one League Cup game, and a minute against Birmingham in the league.

It's too easy to just say we don't produce good youngsters any more - James should have been playing first team games at the back end of the 14/15 season, but Russell Slade prefered to pick the retiring that summer Danny Gabbidon instead.

Arrgghhh this makes me so angry. He came on against Chelsea and was deemed sufficiently good enough for a Premiership appearance. Enter Slade who presumably didn't give him a first glance and like all the other youngsters at the club, wasn't given a chance. Jesus, that man was a turd.
Just been sacked by lowly League 2 Grimsby as well. Shows what he knows.
Told on the weekend that Cameron Coxe could be Yeovil bound next season.
Its the nature of the beast really, we don't see Warnock throwing the youngsters in, but we don't see as much directed on him on that front.
Sometimes players have to go back to go forward to get some experience playing, at a lower level. Then develop from there. There is every chance that Swansea sign him he plays a year in their U23 side and ends up on loan to a club playing at a lower standard than Cardiff anyway.
Every club will have the one that has got away.
Marko Grujic is 21.

I thought James always played consistently well for the U23's. Possibly not tall enough for a centre back but nevertheless good in the air. Appeared to have the makings of a good right back.
This happens at all clubs. OGS nor Slade picked him, or Trollope, or Warnock. He's done well by all accounts at Yeovil and good luck to him. I hope he proves the club wrong but every club has mistakes like this. Even still, it'll only be a mistake if he proves himself in the Championship or Prem. Just because a Premier League club buy you, it doesn't mean you'll make it there.
