It wasn't just a bit late, it was late and the opposition player must have known Ampadu would hit the deck. Ampadu's challenge could be a positive moment in the long run and while it was a risk in reacting, if Wales had drawn rather than lost then Ampadu's challenge would be seen in more positive light, it was a risk worth taking on the night just as long as he keeps on the "won't be bullied" side of things rather than "can be wound up" side.
