into day 4, diet lemonade last night. had planned the brewery quarter, old arcade, elevens...……… before the game and then similar after before the game home via chippy alley. seriously need to shed some weight for health reasons but it's not easy especially as I'm coming down with my Friday night drinking buddies. too many good beers down there. Am I allowed a respite day?

I’m doing the same, want to lose weight for health reasons too, so cutting down on the booze, better diet and exercise.
It doesn’t help it’s the mother in laws 60th tomorrow so I will be having have a three course meal and a few beers so early into the new regime.
However, I think the reason I always fail to keep up with any new health kick is because I try and go from one extreme to the other instantly. Gym every day, plain chicken and veg every day to the point that I hate both and they become chores within 2/3 weeks.
This time I will allow break myself in at a slower pace and allow the odd cheat day. Hopefully that will see me make a better fist of it than my previous 20 odd attempts.
