Beirut. About the troubles back in the 70’s in war torn Lebanon as the Muslims and Jews wage battle. Intense, credible and well acted.A good 8/10.

Thought I would bring this back to life.....
Ok - good film I thought was Bohemian Rhapsody - but I have always loved Queen's music and paid an interest in their history etc, so it really interested me. So I am probably a bit biased.
Not a fan of films based around music so Bohemian Rhapsody was a bit of a trek into that territory for me. But it was outshone by A Star Is Born. Thought that was excellent. Superb performances by the two starts, Gaga and Cooper.
Another film I liked but won't appeal to a lot of folks was the House With a Clock In It's Wall. It was a bit unsure if it was a kids film trying to appeal to adults or the other way around. But it was very watchable and worked well in my opinion. A bit like Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - bit odd in places but likeable.
And finally the best film I have seen for a while is The 12th Man. I love war films with a an emphasis on the underdog. This is slow in places so don't expect action all the way. Another good one from a while back was Max M**** - similar kind of story. This was well done and kept me gripped.
Well done Maccy. You did well to find this thread deep in the bowels of this messageboard.
Saw Calibre on Netflix tonight. Two City boys go deer hunting in the Scottish Highlands with disastrous consequences. It’s tight. It’s taut. It’s well acted. Worth watching. A good 7.5/10.
Watched the green book last night and would highly recommend it also ralf breaks the internet was very good (perks of having kids watching cartoons )
Really enjoyed Wind River on Netflix. A murder mystery in the deep snows. I liked this a lot 8/10.
Watched bird box as everyone is banging on about it. Didn’t find it scary but still enjoyed it. Sandra bullock is good in it. And smoking for 58!
I downloaded it. According to this link it is on Amazon Prime - https://couchpop.com/film/the-12th-man/
https://couchpop.com/film/max-m****-man-of-war/ - check this one out on Netflix - very good watch. Stupid swear filter keeps blocking out the link!

Cat get max m**** on Netflix
It comes up in the search but not in the displayed titles i
Another decent, low budget war film worth a watch is Saints and Soldiers - the first one, the others are crap. The acting isn't amazing but it is pretty good as a film. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373283/
Another really good film from a bit of a different angle is Days Of Glory - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0444182/ - the French Prsident at the time was so moved that he awarded medals to the Algerians who fought for France.
Going to give Ghost Stories on Netflix a go tonight.
Seen these in the past week - couldn't imagine two different films but both brilliant:
