Thread: England v Australia.

  1. #1

    England v Australia.

Odds just swung heavily in favour of the Aussies because they've won the toss and are batting first - that's been the formula for success so far in this World Cup.

    Re: England v Australia.

Handscomb in for Khawaja, and Smith up to 3. England need quick wickets.

    Re: England v Australia.

Watching the news and Michael Vaughan earlier, England's name's on the cup!
Now where have I heard that before?

    Re: England v Australia.

Hopefully Vaughan is right, even if he is cricket's Chris Sutton these days

Finch gone, LBW, and burned their review. Shocking review, too. Not even umpire's call.

    Re: England v Australia.

Finch out first ball - 4 for 1.

Danger man gone now! Warner caught at slip

  8. #8

    Re: England v Australia.

    Aus dodged a bullet there.
Erasmus ruling not out, ball tracking shows top of bails would have gone.
Could easily be 10 for 3!

    Re: England v Australia.

14 for 3. Aus in big trouble and must now be looking to bat out the 50 overs.
    Huge advantage to England!

    Re: England v Australia.

Aussie batsman nearly had his head taken off then.
    England look up for this

    Archer is bowling rockets.

Was about to post something similar.
Reminiscent of the WI greats of the 70's/80's.

Nasty one for Carey to deal with, literally taking it on the chin. Hard to believe that players didn't wear protective headgear not that long ago.
That said, you wonder whether the batsman's technique is flawed these days and they over-rely on the helmet.

When I started playing, they introduced helmets and there was a lot of chat about whether it a good idea due to batsman being less likely to move out of the way of a short ball.

Obviously, the positives out weigh the negatives but some of the really bad accidents we've seen wouldn't have happened 20/30 years ago... although there would have been a lot more that did! (I'm pro helmets by the way!)

Boy will Aud be glad to see the back of Rashid, and Archer for that matter.

Smith still there so they still have a chance. Gotta be there at the end though.

Please let England suffer a massive batting collapse.

Very sad indeed, being as Wales is tied to the competition.

Not the same as the Coming Home Lot and EGG

The vast majority of cricket fans in Wales, support England. It is nothing like football and rugby.

Saved England and cost Aussies 20 to 30 runs?

I think that's won England the game. 224 is going to be so hard to defend.

They said that it didn't look easy to bat on that track, so I don't think it is over yet

That isn't a 224 wicket. Smith and Carey made it look very easy. England just have to be sensible.

Tied in that we host a few matches?

Typical cap doffer nonsense, Wales should have its own independent cricket team.
