Fo me it has to be QPR. Even though City beat them 4-2 back in 1969, in my favourite match, they were an extremely talented side with Rodney Marsh, Terry Venables et al. By the way, Toshack got a hat-trick.
Here's Bob's Review
Bournemouth also got a mention above and quite right too. They put so many teams to the sword and were very very impressive. If memory serves me right I think they put EIGHT on Birmingham AWAY from home. Thought we did well to get a home draw against them, especially as a certain Mr Arter opened the scoring for them.
I thought the Wigan team in 2005 that went up were good.
Ellingtoon and Roberts were formidable up top and they had some good footballers in the side like Bullard and Alan Mahon not to mention Baines at full back.
They also took Kav off us that season too, which was traumatic at the time!
Remember a 6-1 home pasting by a Sheffield United side in the late 70's and also a Stoke City side with a very young Garth Crooks who just seemed to have super speed!
