I like Jones a lot, but his time at Stoke tainted him. Would take him in a heartbeat over Mike Flynn, though I feel Jones needs another stint in league 1 before getting a “big” job in the championship again

Big City fan and a very impressive manager of Luton Town, but does his Stoke experience mean he needs to go back to the lower divisions to rebuild his reputation?

He looked a beaten man at the end of his tenure at Stoke.
Would he be of a strong enough nature to bounce straight back ?
Wasn’t one of the criticisms of Warnock that he was living off past glories?
I wouldn't be overly disappointed if we went for Jones.
Done a good job at Luton but Stoke was a poisoned chalice
Think he made a bad choice going to Stoke, maybe he won’t want light night to strike twice by coming to a similar sort of environment (underachieving, big wages etc)
I’d take him though.
Not fancying a Flynn or a Harris I’ll be honest. More shite football is not what we need.
I'd love to have Nathan Jones
I'd be surprised if Choo and Dalman even know who he is
I saw him play for City youth in a friendly at Abertillery, surprised he never got a first team game, he looked good. And before Luton he was highly regarded as coach at Brighton. I'd take over Flynn 10 times out of ten.
Choo and Dalman, being huge soul boys, would both know who Nathan Jones is!

He couldn’t do that shit twice , could he? Maybe worth a punt based on this twisted logic.
Him failing isn't a problem for me, only by failing enough do you end up succeeding.
But it may be too soon. That Stoke job must have taken something out of him, probably needs a break.
He's probably my first choice at the moment. But I can't say I have particularly strong positive feelings about any of the mooted candidates.
Indeed he did. It was a mercy when the sack came as he looked close to a breakdown in his last few weeks at Stoke. I hope he can manage again before too long but right now a few weeks of rest and recuperation with his new bride somewhere sunny is the best thing for him.
You’d also think he will have learnt valuable lessons there.
A mate of mine who’s managed a fair bit in non league both sides of the border thought maybe he struggled dealing with players at a higher level.
Plenty of big time Charlie’s at Stoke.
Not sure if the problem would be the same here with the likes of Bamba , Pack and Peltier.
It’s possible to imagine all kinds of plausible scenarios really. Did he learn valuable lessons or has his self-belief taken a damaging hit. Were they big-time Charlies or was he just not able to lead better players with any conviction?
There’s no way of knowing really so I think it’s better not to overthink it. I’d steer clear personally. I’m not discounting that he could come good just saying it’s even more speculative to think that when he’s had such a poor recent record.
