Ok thanks lom. So there's no doubt what you meant after that clarification.

Natural born UK people are white.

Quit avoiding the elephant in the room. Why do you naturally conflate being 'ethnic' with not being born in the UK?

Why do you think only white people can be UK citizens?

Black people and other races have called this island home for longer than there's been a united kingdom.

Perhaps you could clarify what you mean as right now it would be very hard to defend you if you were called a racist.

I was responding to the quote from the European where the person in question felt unwelcome , sadly he ran into a racist ,the point I was making we are a very inclusive society that welcomes all people from around the world , and we happily live in harmony , so I disagree with the article as it doesnt represent the UK as a whole .

    I hope that helps .

I guess you knew that anyway.

What part of "We have 3 million muslims in our country some under cities now have the [more] ethnic people than natural born UK people which is fine ." was you making your point? You're saying that "ethnic people" are not natural born UK people... which is completely wrong (factually) and makes you look like you don't consider non-whites to be British - which sounds a bit, you know.

Like lardy, I don't think anyone understood the point you were trying to make.

So there we go: welcome people from around the world, and your distinction is their colour.

Perhaps the long and earnest campaign fighting anti-semitism against the Jew has taken its toll on his blind spots?

My "petty" response was just a further way of showing what an inappropriate term "natural born UK people" was. Maybe you genuinely used the term in the manner you describe, but it was a clumsy, crass and unfortunate decision by you if you did.

I can remember my mother telling me when I was a kid that two of her grandparents were born and bred in Ireland, so does that mean I qualify as "natural born UK people"? Let's face it, if you went back far enough, there'd be very few of us who would.

As for not believing the story, as a, presumably, white, "natural born UK" person of a certain age, I wouldn't have thought you were in the best position to judge - certainly not as well placed as the person who wrote the article.

Nor are you the perfect judge , based on your political leaning , all I know this country is a very inclusive country and chaledng the view folk are not welcome any more .

I wont call you comments crass as I'm above petty comments it show a great weakness .

Interesting article by a German journalist (admittedly published in the Daily Mail!):

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/a...ty-Brexit.html

Alexander von Schoenburg is editor-at-large at BILD, Germany's biggest-selling paper.

It may be Germany's biggest selling newspaper but it has a history of gutter-level reporting and using innocent people as fodder by vilifying them and lying about them.
It has zero gravitas and comes from the same place as The Daily Mail in many respects.
It even prompted Heinrich Böll, the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature, to write 'The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum', a book about an innocent individual being made a hate figure due to the lies and distortions published by the German red-tops, in particular 'Bild', in their need to print scandal.

Like everywhere else in the world there is a, spectrum of opinion in Germany and some will people will indeed have the same opionion of the authorr but I wouldn't expect Bild to make an effort to make a stab at balance in any respect.

OK, interesting. Wouldn't you then expect such a newspaper to rubbish the UK, if it's Germany's equivalent of the Daily Mail? i.e. xenophobic/nationalistic?

I sure your right about its position , it Is though a German point of view and he is probably not alone ,as its is Germany biggest selling paper , I found the one line very interesting ,see below :

"" It is remarkable that EU member states account for only seven per cent of the world's population — but 50 per cent of all welfare spending. ""

South Sudan in no welfare safety net shocker.

It also contains almost every country in the world that I could live in and feel safe.

Only just seen this message - well, I must admire your gall at least in using the term "natural born U.K. people" in the context you did and then trying to claim the moral high ground.

    Wow great example.

The quote is about the global world v Europe last time I looked at a map , South Sudan was a very small part , in fact ridiculously small .

You do come up with some very strange comparisons,I guess it helps your narrow narrative .

Rest easy though your in a safe haven of benefits .

I am a bit concerned that your first reaction to a country having comprehensive welfare system is that it is bad. It's not helping you maintain that pretence that you are an 'old school socialist' (you know, the ones that introduced a comprehensive welfare system).

I thought the point I was making was self evident. There are probably 20 countries in Europe that I would quite happily live in. There possibly aren't 20 more in the rest of the world. It's not narrow minded to realise how lucky we are to live in a European country, we won the birth lottery.

If you think a comprehensive welfare system is a bad thing then there are plenty of places you could move to in order to get away from it. Are you gainfully employed right now?

Did you question whether this "safe haven of benefits" include state pensions etc? I can't see a lot of underdeveloped nations having things like statutory sick pay either... can you?

Because, like Eric pointed out to you through the obvious sarcasm that you missed - I don't think a lot of nations have a system which is intended to look after their citizens (ours is, but it's debatable whether it's succeeding with its intentions). Thankfully, a lot of EU members do - which should be a positive, not a negative.

It's amazing how you say that you were a Labour supporter and also voted to remain in the EU - yet you show nothing but to make people think the opposite when you post your opinion on here.

I don't expect anything. Just made a general comment about the historic tenor of that newpaper in general.
