I only ever go for short weekend breaks to tenby , saundersfoot or newquay

I would imagine the demand for local holidays will go up and thus the prices

Maybe people will opt for camping holidays , less chance of bumping into lots of people

Cant see spain or the spanish islands being a popular option

Reckon wild breaks to the highlands of scotland or the forests of west wales will be in demand

If the New World Order is in control by then (check Organ Morgan's latest on the Politics Board for the inside track) the only options for the survivors of economic collapse and depopulation will be the Bill Gates Re-education Camps - specialising in chemical cocktails to bend minds and subliminal Fake News saturation.

Or else it will be a balance between reduced demand (through financial hardship and latent fear of social mixing) and reduced supply of viable airlines and solvent hotels etc. My guess is more domestic holidays, reduced demand and prices that (some up some down) are not too much different from pre-lockdown.

I can see a massive reduction in flights and prices going up because of it. Only my opinion and not based on any logic.

I want to get home to Wales to see my Dad and my Brother once it’s safe to do so.

I have a feeling that an economy class flight may cost may cost business class prices for a while.

A drive down to Tampa to stay with my Brother in Law or a drive up to my Wife’s Aunt’s lake house in Northern Michigan seems like our best hope for a holiday this Summer.

I don't think anybody will be booking a holiday this summer.

There was some speculation in yesterday’s Telegraph implying that air travel will see some form of social distancing in the way people are seated on planes which would double up air fare costs.

This will be an interesting one, I think substantially more expensive for 18/24 months.
New businesses will then have been established to take up the slack of those who fold
during this current period with prices creeping back down as the availability increases.

Don't know about holiday prices, but I bet holiday insurance prices will be substantially increased.

Supply and demand. Supply will be less. Demand will be more. Prices will go through the roof. At home and abroad.

Abroad will be too expensive initially, way more than we are accustomed to anyway. Stay at home this summer, West Wales, gower, Devon Cornwall will be packed. Let’s spend our cash here.....

I am heading up to Scotland soon as this is over, hopefully be able to find a camp site and go walking.

The good people of Condor Ferries had my money for a trip this easter weekend .

They very kindly offered to reschedule my trip to a later date with complimentary upgraded accommodation. BUT IT MAY COST MORE MONEY.????? Has this covid 19 changed the meaning of complimentary?

If however I would like a refund , that will take around 2 months to process..

Supposed to be going to bluestone in 3 weeks....still not cancelled it, only up to April 27 you can. Seems odd and then they make you wait 45 days for a refund. Pi$$take

in terms of cruise holidays I think it will take along time before most people have the confidence to go down that route listening to the experts the last few days , Dr Hillary on GMTV this morning saying this virus is going to be with us potentially until 2024 it's not going away anytime soon

Looks like we're going to have to work around and live with it for a few years yet . Tourism is going to take a hammering the next 2 years at least if the experts are correct

I disagree until everyone feels safe following a vaccine, all the over fities with health conditions (the main people that go on holidays) won't want to chance it, so demand will be low.

Cruises should be cheap as chips especially for that reason!

Benidorm and Magaluf may be busy though as all the youngsters want to get away?

UK holidays will cost much more, I know a few people who have been told they can't get a refund just a credit to book next year and prices are already +20% for same holiday.

Yes, I think UK will go up as fewer people are prepared to jump on a plane, boat, train coach!

I found the story that EasyJet are going to leave the middle seats empty to encourage social distancing amusing. I'm not sure that maintaining a distance of 2m whilst being on a plane for a few hours is quite the same as maintaining a distance of 2m when in the open air.

Just rearranged holiday to New York that was meant to be at the end of May for the end of August instead (a more expensive time of year). Flights are still with Virgin and managed to get a better hotel. Saved £70.

If we had flown with Air Austria on the same dates we would have saved another £200 each.

Get booking now if you're planning on going away this year.

What do you think your chances of flying in August are?

Not got a sausage at the moment... Especially as NY is one of the worst affected places. May need to rearrange a second time. Costs literally nothing to do though, so no problems there.

Virgin Atlantic is awaiting a decision on a potential government bailout. Not sure it's cut-and-dry given their losses in recent years.
